Derek is nine months old today, and growing by the second! He had a hard eighth month, but is now through it! Derek contracted roseola, cut his first tooth (bottom left), smashed his toe, and withstood a couple of days with a high temperature. What a trooper!! He is crawling SUPER FAST and loves to be outside. He is usually seen with a leaf in each hand as he crawls, or daintily stroking a flower. He is definitely an outdoor person. Derek has been enjoying the park every day, sometimes twice a day! Then he comes home for a nice warm bath. He had his first experience with dog poop on the play structure. Luckily it didn't go into his mouth. Where was soap when we needed it? We just LOVE him SO MUCH and look forward to the next month and what it will bring us!

Your Grandpa Richard and Grandma Kathy are so sad that you got sick. But, we know you must be better and now have a brand new tooth. In a few days we get to love on you and see that new tooth. We'll be glad to see your parents too! Love, Grandpa and Grandma H
I bet that green shirt came from Sandy the lady of GREEN. Way to go Derek. Thank god the poop did not get into his mouth...yuk.

Oh my god. You guys in one Month, Derek has grown so much. It's so strange to be away for JUST ONE MONTH, and see how fast he is growing. Now I know how your parents are feeling when they see Derek on here. We miss all of you guys so much. I have updated my blog if you want to check it out. Robert says to give Derek and Hug and kiss from us.
