Derek can't believe it! Mylie Lillian Matthies is finally out of his Auntie's tummy (September 26, 2007)!!! She is absolutely beautiful!!! Eric and Christina are super happy she is here too. Christina did the whole entire process without drugs. Mylie weighed in at 8lbs 5oz and is 20 inches long. She has long black hair and the face of an angel! We were lucky enough to hold her only a few hours after her birth. Derek was a bit jealous...but he still loves her dearly!

Derek can't get enough of the new kid's show, "Yo! Gabba Gabba," on Nickelodeon. I compare it to the game, Cranium, where they took the best of all games and combined them into one. Well, this show takes all of the greatest kid show ideas and puts them into one. Yo! Gabba Gabba!!! ENJOY!

Derek's Favorite Animal

We can't get enough of him!

Derek is nearly 20 months old and surprises us with what he knows every day! After accomplishing a task in my classroom the other day, he exclaimed, "I did it!" Last Thursday he picked up a rock and said, "heavy." The shapes he knows without prompting are oval, hexagon, square, triangle, cross, arrow, heart (boom boom), circle, star, flower, and diamond. He is still learning his colors..., but is getting closer to knowing them. He's turning into a little boy and no longer a baby. It all happened super fast! Ric is out flying today with a pilot friend. I'lll have to post pictures when he returns!
