As Ric and I turned the corner to arrive at our shower, a sign was hanging outside the house saying, "It's a boy!" What a sweet welcome. We entered Sandy's home, and I was crowned with a tiara which read, "Mother to Be." It was wonderful to be surrounded by our Monday Night friends who showered us with gifts for our little one. How truly blessed we are to have such wonderful people in our lives who care about us and our new baby! Thank you, dear friends!!!

I only have 81 days to go! I am amazed at how quickly the time goes by. I'm sure I won't be saying this at the end of my pregnancy! Baby Matthies' brain can now direct rhythmic breathing and control body temperature. This means that if he is born now, his brain will stimulate himself to breathe and sustain that activity without medical intervention. He can also help regulate his body temperature by cooling himself off when too warm and visa-versa. AMAZING!

I am feeling well, but a bit tired due to fighting a sinus infection(?). This is my second sickness so far and pray I don't get anything else. Thank you for all of your prayers and can't wait until you meet our little one!

We had an early midwife appointment yesterday to check on my weight. Two weeks ago, I had lost four pounds probably due to starting work. I was told to gain more weight, so I did a fabulous job doubling that weight in two weeks! The midwife said I am right where I should be and not to worry because it is nearly impossible to starve a baby! (They are great leeches.) I am now 27 weeks pregnant (25 for "real") and doing well. The baby's eyes are now un-fused and opened slightly! Isn't that cool? I'm simply amazed how quickly they change from day to day. Ric is looking forward to being a dad!
